The role, in T&S terms
Written by the T&S Network from TikTok's posting.
Product policy work on how video content policies are turned into consistent enforcement across human review and automated systems at scale. The role sits in the governance pillar of the Video Product Policy team, which defines policy structure, sets the standard enforcement is measured against, and finds where enforcement has drifted from intent. It covers the full range of content risks.
What you'd do
- Maintain assigned policy framework areas as the single source of truth for definitions, thresholds, and exceptions across surfaces.
- Convert policy prose into decision logic flows, worked examples, edge case treatment, and labeling standards.
- Create evaluation datasets and quantify how far reviewer and model decisions stray from the policy's aim.
- Turn enforcement measurement into specific correction pathways rather than reporting alone.
- Audit guidelines, training material, and model-facing prompts and decision trees against policy intent and drive fixes.
- Serve as the central reference for cross-surface policy interpretation questions.
- Follow policy updates and make sure guidelines, tools, labels, and automated enforcement get revised to match.
What it asks for
- 5+ years in a policy, regulatory, or governance role in tech, government, law, or similar sectors.
- Experience working with rule frameworks that others must interpret and apply consistently.
- Track record of clear internal documents such as policy memos, briefings, or standards.
- Proficiency in Chinese and English, required.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail across large volumes of complex data.
- Curiosity about or hands-on experience with AI in moderation or policy work, like labeling pipelines or model evaluation (preferred).
