What you'd do

• Translate DSA, EU AI Act, and US state AI laws into technical guardrails for recommendation systems.
• Execute compliance strategy for recommender mandates, including non-profiling feed options and content parameter disclosures.
• Assign regulatory risk tiers to recommendation models based on architecture, input data, and optimization objectives.
• Create automated logging of model lineage, training settings, and evaluation outcomes to support audit traceability.
• Build controls keeping feeds from boosting illegal material, severe disinformation, hate, or content tied to mental health and minor safety harms.
• Test ranking and candidate retrieval for popularity skew, unequal treatment across demographics, and narrowing of what users see, before and after launch.
• Enforce compliance sign-off gates in the ML development lifecycle so high-risk models do not ship without documented clearance.

What it asks for

• Proven experience running compliance programs at scale, including direct engagement with regulators or external auditors on algorithmic or AI matters.
• Solid working knowledge of how recommenders, ranking models, and content distribution systems run at large scale.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data analysis, with experience in ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience with experimentation platforms.
• Bachelor's in computing, data science, information policy, law and technology, or a closely related field (preferred).
• Four or more years in AI/ML governance, tech compliance, algorithm auditing, or responsible AI engineering (preferred).
• Practical application of DSA, OSA, GDPR, or AI laws, and cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST or ISO 27001 (preferred).
