How We Keep It Useful and Safe

The rules for everything here, in plain words. When something comes down, we tell you which one.

Everywhere

Whatever you post, send or claim.

  1. Be respectful

No abuse, threats or harassment. We remove it, and we may close the account behind it.

  2. Keep other people's details private

Don't post anyone's contact details, documents or private information.

  3. Be who you say you are

Describe yourself, your employer and your product as they are. No borrowed logos, invented credentials, or an agency posing as the company.

  4. Keep it about Trust & Safety

This site is for Trust & Safety work. Jobs, tools, events and pages outside it come down.

  5. Use each feature for what it's for

A mentorship request, hiring brief, claim, review or report is for what it says. Don't use one to sell, recruit or ask for something else.

  6. No scraping or cold outreach

Use the site the way a person does. Don't scrape it, copy it in bulk, or contact people you found here about something they didn't ask for.

  7. Nothing illegal

Content that's illegal where we operate, or where its readers are, comes down.

Listings and entries

Jobs, tools, events and company pages. People rely on them to decide where to work and what to use.

  1. Real jobs, people and products

A listing is for a job that's open, a page is for a real person or company, and an entry is for a product people can get.

  2. Keep it current

A listing or entry that no longer matches what's live is fixed or taken down.

  3. One entry per thing

A duplicate is merged into the entry that's already here.

  4. Enough to be useful

An entry too thin to tell a reader anything is sent back for more.

  5. Claim only what's yours

Claim a company, tool or page only if you work there or made it.

  6. Use images you're allowed to

Upload images you own or are licensed to use, showing what they're attached to.

Job listings

Two more, because a job listing reaches people when they can least afford to be misled.

  1. Nobody pays to be hired

A listing can't ask candidates for money, equipment, training or a deposit.

  2. No discriminatory listings

A listing can't rule people out, or say it prefers some over others, by age, race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, pregnancy, religion, national origin or anything like them.

Reviews

A review is only useful if it's honest about where it comes from.

  1. Review what you've used, and say where you stand

Write from your own experience. If you work for the maker or a competitor, say so in the review.

Mentoring

Mentors give their time for free.

  1. Respect a mentor's time

Say what you'd like help with, keep the time you booked, and take no for an answer.

Salaries

T&S Compensation is only as good as the figures in it.

  1. Share real figures

Report your own pay, as it is or was. Made-up figures are removed.

If something breaks a rule

  1. 1

    Report it

Every job, tool, review, mentor and company page, event and list has a Report button. You don't need an account.

  2. 2

    A person decides

We read every report, name the rule we're acting under, and tell you what we decided if you left an email.

  3. 3

Appeal if we got it wrong

Every decision email has a link to appeal for 90 days, no sign-in needed. A different person reads it.

Depending on what happened, something is fixed, sent back, declined or taken down, and for abuse we may close the account behind it. Nothing here takes away your right to go to a court, an out-of-court dispute body or a regulator where you live. You can always write to us.
