Terms of use
The agreement between you and the T&S Network: what you can expect, what we ask of you, and what happens when something goes wrong. Version 1.0 · in force since October 12, 2026
01
The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Jeff Dunn, who operates the T&S Network ("the T&S Network", "we", "us"), a free set of resources for people who do Trust & Safety work. By using the site or holding an account, you agree to them. If you do not, do not use the site.
Two other documents are part of this agreement and you should read them: the community guidelines, which are the rules for what goes on the site, and the privacy notice, which is what we do with information about you. Where you hold an account, how we store and share your information is the agreement you made at signup, and it governs your information where it says something more specific than the privacy notice does.
02
What the site is, and what it costs
The site publishes job listings gathered from employers' own public application systems and posted by hiring teams; Hidden Talent, which puts people forward for roles; a directory of companies; a catalog of tools and services; pay research and a levels framework; guides and posts; an events calendar; T&S News, a feed of headlines from other publications; and the T&S Digest, an email roundup.
It is free to use. We may add paid services later, and if we do, the price and what it buys will be stated at the point you can buy it.
Where a list is ordered, the page says what it is ordered by. Paid placement, where it appears, is labeled and sits outside that order. It buys a place above the list, never a position in it. A save or upvote someone makes on a paid slot counts like any other.
We can change, add to or withdraw any part of the site. We aim not to break something you rely on without notice, but this is a free service with no uptime commitment.
03
Your account
You must be 18 or older to hold an account. Accounts are for people rather than for companies or for software, and one person holds one account.
Give us accurate information and keep it current: the jobs, pay and introductions the site gives you are only as good as what your profile says. Do not claim a company, a tool entry, an event or a role that is not yours.
Your sign-in is yours to look after. Tell us at hello@trustsafety.net if you think somebody else has it.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. It is immediate and cannot be undone. Nothing here requires you to ask us first.
04
Rules for using the site
The community guidelines are the rules, and a decision about anything you submit names the one it is under. On top of those, and as a matter of this agreement, do not:
- Use the site to break the law, or to do anything that harms another person.
- Post content that is not yours to post, including somebody else's private information, documents, photographs or contact details.
- Impersonate a person, a company or the T&S Network, or claim an affiliation you do not have.
- Scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk download the site, or use an automated tool against it, other than a search engine following our robots file.
- Reuse a directory, a catalog or the board as a dataset, resell what is on the site, or build a competing listing from it.
- Contact people you find here for anything they did not ask for, including recruitment spam, sales outreach and list building.
- Interfere with the site's security or its operation, probe it, or try to reach data that is not yours.
- Use the site to train a machine learning model on its content or on the people in it.
Automated access is a hard line rather than a preference. This site exists because people put confidential information into it, and a bulk read of a directory is the thing that makes that unsafe.
05
What you post
What you write stays yours. To show it to anyone we need permission, so by posting it you give the T&S Network a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt for formatting, publish and display it on the site and in the email and feeds the site sends, for as long as you leave it up.
That license ends when you take the content down or delete your account, with two exceptions. The first is anything somebody has already received: an email that went out, a page a search engine cached, or a copy in a backup that ages out on its own schedule.
The second is an entry that is about something else rather than about you. A tool or service you added to the catalog, an event you put in the calendar, and an edit you made to a company page you claimed all stay up when you delete your account, with your name and your link to them removed. They describe a product, an event or an employer, other people rely on them, and taking a tool entry down because the person who wrote it left would make the catalog worse for everybody and better for nobody. Everything that is about you goes: your profile, your reviews, your lists and your follows. Ask us and we will take one of the other things down too.
Only post what you have the right to post. Images must be yours or licensed to you, and must show the thing they are attached to.
We can review, edit for length and formatting, decline, or take down anything submitted, under the rules and with a reason. We are not obliged to publish anything.
Content on this site written by other people is theirs. Job listings are the employer's, and a directory entry a member wrote is that member's. We do not endorse any of it by publishing it.
06
Job listings and employers
Most listings are read nightly from employers' own public application systems and careers pages. Every request names us, we check each site's robots file before every request and stop reading any site that disallows us, and we read a role's own page once, when it first appears. A listing that disappears from its source is marked inactive.
We do not verify listings. A role may be filled, paused or withdrawn before the board catches up. For a listing read from an employer's site, the page shows our summary of the posting rather than the posting itself. A summary is our best effort to describe the role and may be incomplete or wrong. The employer's posting is the authoritative version, and you should read it before applying. Salary ranges, locations and dates come from the employer's posting and are the employer's claims, not ours. We are not responsible for errors in a listing or a summary, or for decisions made on them. If you think we got one wrong, use Report this listing on its page and we will look at it. Applying goes to the employer, under the employer's terms, and what happens next is between the two of you.
Posting a role on the board is free, and the listing must be a real, open role. Asking a candidate for money, equipment, training or a deposit, or screening on age, race, sex, disability, religion or anything like them, takes the listing down.
If you are an employer and you want a listing removed or corrected, write to us and we will do it.
08
Reporting something, and how we decide
Anything on the site can be reported, and you do not need an account to report it. The fastest route is Contact; a page with a report control offers it directly.
When we act on something, we act under a named rule. The decision names the guideline it cites and quotes it back, and where the decision is about something you submitted, you get that in an email.
Every one of those emails carries a link that reopens the decision without a login. Tell us what we missed and a different person reads it with what you wrote in front of them. The link is good for ninety days. You can also just write to us.
Nothing here takes away a right you have to go to a court, an out-of-court dispute settlement body, or a regulator in the country where you live.
If you are an authority contacting us about content, write to hello@trustsafety.net. We accept notices in English.
09
Suspension and ending this agreement
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the guidelines, that is used to harm somebody, or that we are required to act on. Where we can, we say which rule and give you the way to argue with it. Where the breach is serious or the harm is ongoing, we act first and tell you after.
You can end this agreement whenever you like by deleting your account. The sections on what you posted, what we do not promise, dealings between you and other people, liability and governing law survive it.
10
Our content and our name
The site, its design, its writing, its research and the arrangement of its directories belong to the T&S Network or are used with permission. You may read it, link to it and quote it with attribution. You may not copy it wholesale, republish it, or use the T&S Network name or marks to suggest we endorse you.
A company name, a logo and a product name on this site belong to whoever owns them, and appear because the entry is about them.
11
Other people's sites, and what we embed
This site links out constantly, because that is most of what a directory is: to an employer's application page, a tool maker's site, an event, and the publications whose headlines appear in T&S News and the T&S Digest. We do not control any of it, we are not responsible for it, and a link is not an endorsement.
A video in a post plays through YouTube's no-cookie player, and nothing reaches YouTube until you press play. Once you follow a link or play a video, you are on their site under their terms and their privacy policy.
12
What we do not promise
THE SITE AND EVERYTHING ON IT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR FREE OF ERRORS OR HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
Nothing on this site is legal, financial, employment or career advice, and you should not rely on it as such. Pay research is an estimate from public listings and what members report, with its method published beside it. It is not an offer, a valuation or a benchmark you can hold anyone to. A levels framework describes how the field is organized and is not an assessment of you. A headline in T&S News is somebody else's reporting, chosen and sorted automatically, and we have not checked it.
Job listings, company profiles, tool entries, events and headlines come from employers, makers, members and public sources. Some entries are written by us from public material rather than by the thing they describe: a company profile, a tool entry, a calendar event. Those are our reading of what was published, on the date beside them, and a company or a maker can claim their entry and correct it. We do not verify any of it, and you use it at your own risk. Tell us if something is wrong and we will fix it.
We do not guarantee a job, an introduction, an interview, or an outcome of any kind.
13
Other people, and dealings between you
We are not an employer, an employment agency, a recruiter or a staffing firm, and we are not a party to any relationship between you and an employer, candidate, recruiter, vendor, mentor or other user. We do not screen, vet or verify anyone. Any dealings you have with a person you found through the site are between you and them, and you are responsible for your own judgment about them.
Content on the site written by employers, makers, members and other third parties is theirs. We are not its publisher or speaker, we have no obligation to monitor it, and we are not responsible for it.
If you have a dispute with another user or a third party, you release us from all claims and damages, known and unknown, arising from or connected to that dispute. If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code section 1542, which says: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party."
14
Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST OPPORTUNITIES, LOST EMPLOYMENT, LOST DATA OR REPUTATIONAL HARM, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SITE OR THIS AGREEMENT, HOWEVER CAUSED AND UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD IT WAS POSSIBLE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SITE OR THIS AGREEMENT IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS OR WHAT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
These limits apply to us and to anyone who works on the site with us, and they are a basic part of why the site can be offered for free.
Any claim arising out of or related to the site or this agreement must be brought within one year after it arises, or it is permanently barred.
Nothing in this agreement limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you keep every right your local law gives you, and this section applies only so far as that law permits.
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, liability or expense, including reasonable legal fees, brought by a third party and arising from content you post, your use of the site, your dealings with another user, or your breach of these terms or the law. If you are a consumer, this applies only where the claim results from your own deliberate or negligent act.
15
Changes to these terms
The version and the date at the top of this page identify the wording that applies, and the list at the foot of it says what moved between versions. A change that materially affects you is announced on the site and, where you hold an account, by email, before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after that is how you accept it. If you do not want to, delete your account.
16
Governing law, and where a dispute goes
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and the state and federal courts in California have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from it.
If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings there.
There is no arbitration clause and no class action waiver in this agreement.
17
The rest
These terms, the community guidelines, the privacy notice and, where you hold an account, the consent text, are the whole agreement between us about the site.
If a court finds part of this unenforceable, the rest stands. If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer this agreement. We may, if the network is ever transferred to another operator, including a company formed to run it, and we will say so first.
Write to hello@trustsafety.net about anything in here.
