The role, in T&S terms
Written by the T&S Network from Stream's posting.
Customer-side work on Stream's AI Moderation product, which detects harmful text, images, video and audio in real time for customer platforms. The role covers onboarding customers, translating their community guidelines into policies, thresholds and blocklists, and tuning detection so false positives and missed harm are reduced. It sits on the customer side of Trust & Safety, aimed at making customer T&S teams effective with the moderation queue.
What you'd do
- Run moderation onboarding from kickoff through policy design, configuration, testing and go-live.
- Turn written community guidelines into harm categories, thresholds, blocklists and automated actions.
- Review flagged and missed content to diagnose false positives and false negatives and adjust configuration.
- Investigate moderation escalations and work them to root cause with the engineering team.
- Teach moderators and T&S leads how to work the review queue and set up rules in the dashboard.
- Build onboarding playbooks, vertical configuration templates, tuning checklists and internal runbooks.
- Feed customer patterns into product feedback and advocate for fixes at the source.
What it asks for
- 3+ years in a customer-facing technical or SaaS role such as implementation, solutions consulting or technical account management.
- Comfort working technically in dashboards, API responses and webhooks without being an engineer.
- Strong project management across several concurrent onboardings.
- Analytical skill to measure moderation accuracy with data.
- Written and verbal communication for both moderator training and executive business reviews.
- Direct T&S, content moderation or community operations experience (preferred).
- Knowledge of moderation concepts such as policy taxonomies, precision/recall tradeoffs, appeals and CSAM reporting obligations (preferred).
Worth knowing
- Reviewing examples of harmful material such as harassment, hate speech and NSFW imagery as part of tuning and diagnosis.
- Company says reviewer wellbeing is taken seriously and will be discussed in the process.
Terms in this role
- COPPA.
- The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, a US law. A service aimed at children, or that knows a user is under 13, needs verifiable parental consent before collecting their personal data.
- CSAM.
- Child sexual abuse material: images or video of the sexual abuse of children. Illegal to make, share or possess in nearly every country.
- BPO.
- Business process outsourcing: a vendor that runs work such as content review for client platforms.
