The role, in T&S terms

Written by the T&S Network from SpaceXAI's posting.

Child safety enforcement work on X and Grok products, covering monitoring, investigating and escalating content and behavior that violates terms of service with a focus on protecting minors. The role also trains and refines Grok on safety labels, annotations and enforcement inputs.

What you'd do

  • Monitor and act on content and behavior that breaches the terms of service, escalating as needed.
  • Investigate complex child safety cases and decide when to escalate to legal teams or external reporting such as NCMEC.
  • Handle urgent escalations that arrive under pressure and where the facts are unclear.
  • Process appeals, audit automations, and label use cases properly in the system.
  • Provide labels, annotations and inputs on safety protocol, risk scenario and policy compliance projects.
  • Give feedback on tasks that improve detection of illegal and unethical behavior and align Grok with enforcement rules.

What it asks for

  • Proven expertise identifying, mitigating and preventing CSAM and CSE, including grooming and risks in AI-generated content.
  • Knowledge of legal obligations such as NCMEC reporting and industry standards for protecting minors.
  • Experience in online safety and harm reduction on global platforms.
  • Ability to interpret and apply safety policies, and to analyze complex scenarios with ethical reasoning and risk assessment.
  • Data analysis skills to find emerging abuse vectors and design enforcement automations.
  • Experience with a social media Trust & Safety team using AI or automation tools (preferred).

Worth knowing

  • Exposure to sensitive or graphic content, including pornography, violent threats and vulgar language.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, green card holder, refugee or asylee, or eligible for authorization from the U.S. Department of State (ITAR).

Terms in this role

CSAM.
Child sexual abuse material: images or video of the sexual abuse of children. Illegal to make, share or possess in nearly every country.
CSEA.
Child sexual exploitation and abuse. The wider harm area around CSAM, including grooming, sextortion and trafficking.
NCMEC.
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, a US nonprofit. It runs the CyberTipline, where US-based online services must report apparent child sexual abuse material they find.
Red teaming.
Testing a system, often an AI model, by deliberately trying to make it fail or misbehave, so problems are found and fixed first.
Jailbreak.
A prompt written to get an AI model to ignore its safety rules.
