The role, in T&S terms

Written by the T&S Network from Cinder's posting.

Forward deployed engineering for a platform that gives large internet platforms one command center for policy enforcement, AI agents against abuse, investigations, NCMEC reporting and safety program measurement. The engineer is the on-the-ground technical owner after a deal closes, and the escalation point for customers' moderation tooling, sometimes embedded in their engineering teams.

What you'd do

  • Scope customer problems, pick use cases, and build proofs of concept that show value before production.
  • Own implementation from system design through rollout and adoption, working with the customer's CSM while owning the engineering plan.
  • Connect the platform to customer stacks through APIs, webhooks, data pipelines and custom workflows.
  • Write production-quality code where configuration isn't enough for a customer's needs.
  • Run technical workshops and document builds so customer teams can operate without the vendor present.
  • Fix issues in shipped systems, spot patterns across customers, and turn them into reusable product improvements.
  • Take on-call duty for customers when downtime would stop moderation.

What it asks for

  • Four to eight years of engineering or solutions work, ideally at a company scaling quickly.
  • Solid Python for reading, debugging and extending backend code.
  • Experience configuring or customizing a product for a specific customer and shipping a change to what they could do.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and taking initiative in unfamiliar situations.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, TypeScript, React and GraphQL (preferred).
  • Firsthand trust and safety or safety operations experience, or a specialized T&S background (preferred).
  • Consulting experience turning an ambiguous client ask into a working solution (preferred).

Worth knowing

  • On-call rotation for customers when system downtime stops moderation.

Terms in this role
