The role, in T&S terms

Written by the T&S Network from Unitary's posting.

Frontend engineering for the customer-facing interfaces of Unitary's Virtual Agents, software workers that run complex operational workflows inside customer tools for midmarket businesses. The work sits in the product and platform team, focused on turning early pathfinder builds into a scalable, reusable frontend platform.

What you'd do

  • Own the frontend for Virtual Agent products, from architecture and component design through to UX details.
  • Build the interfaces customers use to see, trust and control AI-driven work outputs.
  • Refactor the existing frontend into a shared component library, consistent patterns and reusable platform code.
  • Shape product and design work by pushing back on scope and simplifying screens for customers.
  • Turn product and design intent into production-grade frontend code.
  • Work with platform and backend engineers so the frontend is well supported by APIs and services.

What it asks for

  • Senior hands-on React work in production, including state handling, performance tuning and test coverage.
  • Deep understanding of TypeScript and modern React tooling such as Next.js or Vite.
  • Experience with design systems and component libraries.
  • Track record of building multiple frontends from scratch at startups.
  • Experience refactoring frontends so they scale with product and team growth.
  • Hands-on use of agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex.
  • Strong product judgment about whether a feature is right, not just well built.

Worth knowing

  • Reports to a Principal Engineer.
