Snap Inc. is an American technology company based in Santa Monica, California. It develops and maintains Snapchat, Spectacles, and Bitmoji. Snapchat is a visual messaging service. Lens Studio is a creative tool for developers to build AR and AI experiences.
Snap was founded in September 2011 by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown. It was named Snapchat Inc. at its inception and rebranded as Snap Inc. on September 24, 2016, to include the Spectacles product under the company name. Its stock began trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol SNAP on March 2, 2017. In August 2022, it was reported to have a workforce of 6,400 people.
In 2017 it established an international headquarters in Soho, London.
