The role, in T&S terms
Written by the T&S Network from LEGO Digital Play's posting.
Sets the player safety standard for a new LEGO games and digital entertainment company, covering trust and safety across its game portfolio aimed at children, parents and adult fans. The role is the single point of accountability for safety, with authority to withhold launch approval on player safety grounds, and it builds the function's structure and team as the portfolio grows.
What you'd do
- Work with LEGO Group experts to set baseline trust and safety principles for the brand.
- Represent LDP's trust and safety position to regulators, industry bodies and partners.
- Decide whether launches proceed on player safety grounds, weighing creative choices against unacceptable risk.
- Counsel GMs and design leads at critical moments on gameplay, community, social and commercial features.
- Write the risk scoring guides, launch gates and escalation routes teams follow on their own.
- Set requirements and priorities for LDP's safety tooling based on portfolio-wide need.
What it asks for
- Recognised senior experience in player or online safety.
- Senior development or operations experience with live games or digital products that have social, community or multiplayer features for young or mixed-age audiences.
- Track record of defining a company's safety position, not implementing someone else's.
- Enough product and design fluency to be credible with game leads.
- Fluency in both policy and engineering language, including reading regulation and drafting product requirements.
- Experience leading through a matrix with few direct reports.
- Have added younger-user protections like age checks, parental controls or message filtering to a live product (preferred).
Terms in this role
- Age assurance.
- Ways of checking or estimating a user's age, from asking them to facial age estimation and ID checks.
