The role, in T&S terms

Written by the T&S Network from Amazon's posting.

Investigates automated abuse on Amazon's marketplace, including bots, scripted attacks, and automated modus operandi, inside the Anti-Automation vertical of Account Integrity. The Risk Mining team finds emerging MOs that automated systems miss and turns those findings into upstream ML and rule defenses that stop fraud before it scales.

What you'd do

  • Run deep dives on high-risk bot and scripted-attack behavior and document the MOs.
  • Pull and analyze large datasets to size impact, test hypotheses, and sharpen detection.
  • Build ML features, detection logic, and rule updates from what investigators find, working alongside ML and Engineering.
  • Own the feedback loop so model and rule performance improves on the MOs the team surfaces.
  • Set detection and mitigation priorities for the Anti-Automation vertical and anticipate how attackers will evolve.
  • Measure detection volume, speed, and precision across the vertical.
  • Support high-severity incidents and live escalations as a subject-matter expert.

What it asks for

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in an analytics or data-driven role or similar quantitative role in any domain.
  • Advanced SQL for data mining, or experience with Power BI, Python, SQL, or Tableau.
  • Experience delivering results on large, cross-functional initiatives.
  • 3+ years defining program requirements and using data and metrics to drive improvements (preferred).
  • Experience handling confidential information (preferred).
  • Communicate clearly with both technical teams and senior leaders (preferred).

Worth knowing

  • Responds to live escalations when new automated attacks surface.
