Senior Machine Learning iOS Platform Engineer — Responsible AI and Safety

What you'd do

• Define and evolve the architecture for shipping and invoking safety classifiers and guardrail models across on-device and cloud deployments.
• Own implementation of mitigation policies and oversee their integration into production generative features.
• Design how safety outputs are streamed alongside generative responses, including tokenization and buffering.
• Work with design, engineering, legal and regulatory teams so safeguards support both user protection and product features.
• Contribute to modeling, tooling, datasets and evaluation methods used to monitor and diagnose safety failures.
• Mentor engineers and set development practices for the team.

What it asks for

• 12+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in iOS or macOS app development in Objective-C and Swift.
• Strong command of the core iOS and Foundation APIs.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, statistics or a similar field, or comparable work experience.
• Experience shipping mobile frameworks used by teams outside your own.
• Experience leading architecture of complex, high-performance production systems.
• Working knowledge of on-device ML runtimes such as Core ML or MLX, including model export (preferred)
• Working knowledge of LLMs, token-streaming inference and tokenization (preferred)
