The company was incorporated as Apple Computer, Inc. in Cupertino, California, on January 3, 1977. Its current name was adopted in 2007. Apple became a public company through an initial public offering on the Nasdaq on December 12, 1980. As of October 2025, Apple was valued at just over $4 trillion.
