Global Investigator - National Security

Blockchain investigations for public and private sector partners, tracing crypto crime such as hacks, ransomware, money laundering and terrorism finance on behalf of TRM's clients. The role sits on the Global Investigations Team, which runs ad hoc and time-sensitive cases and builds long-term intelligence on key crime categories.

What you'd do

• Investigate complex cases involving phishing, exploits, hacks, account takeovers, SIM swaps and ransomware on blockchains.
• Investigate terrorism finance and money laundering cases on blockchain for TRM partners.
• Write reports and deliver briefings on findings to TRM's customers.
• Research key categories of on-chain crime and turn that research into usable intelligence.
• Find and maintain partnerships with outside organizations that can supply new sources for attributing on-chain activity.
• Respond to hacks, law enforcement support requests and other time-sensitive events on a weekly on-call rotation, including weekends as needed.

What it asks for

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required.
• Experience as an investigator or analyst in private or public sector, ideally 3-5 years combined.
• Experience briefing senior leaders within an organization.
• Strong structuring and prioritization skills for complex problems.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences, verbally and in writing.
• Hands-on experience with crypto assets and on-chain analysis (preferred).

• Participates in a 24/7 on-call rotation with weekend response as needed.
