Backend engineering for trust and safety on Pairs, a Japanese dating app. The work covers designing and running systems that detect, prevent, investigate and respond to violating and malicious users. It sits in Platform Backend Team, which builds microservices and infrastructure for the core app.

• Design and build mechanisms that reduce policy violations, malicious use and abuse on Pairs
• Review and analyze user behavior, system logs and intervention results to spot risk signals and trends
• Gauge the scale of issues and assess how well countermeasures work
• Continuously improve detection, prevention, investigation and response systems as risk patterns shift
• Work with T&S stakeholders, data analysts, product backend, SRE and security teams on quality, performance and reliability
