About GIFCT Hash-Sharing Database
The GIFCT Hash-Sharing Database is a shared database of hashes of known content produced by terrorist entities, made by GIFCT. GIFCT's Hash-Sharing Database enables GIFCT member companies to quickly identify, and share signals, of terrorist and violent extremist activity.
GIFCT was established in 2017 to address the exploitation of social media platforms by terrorist organizations. GIFCT's membership has expanded beyond its founding companies to include over 40 diverse platforms. The database is described as cross-platform, designed to let members identify where terrorist and violent extremist activity may be taking place on their platforms.

How it works
The GIFCT Hash Sharing Database is a shared bank of hashes (PDQ, vPDQ, MD5 and text hashes) of terrorist and violent extremist content contributed by member companies, tagged by taxonomy (attacker manifestos, perpetrator content, designated organization propaganda, and content flagged during incidents). Members query it through the ThreatExchange API and contribute hashes of what they remove.
Access requires GIFCT membership, which has eligibility criteria around policies, transparency and enforcement. Membership is free.
