The T&S Network estimates this role to be P3, Senior. Key skills at this level: owns a workstream end to end and is the named escalation point for a domain, sets the review standard others in the team work to, and mentors without managing, and builds capability rather than dependency.
Why this level
Estimated from the posting rather than stated by the employer: the title reads as P3 · asks for 7+ years.
The role, in T&S terms
Written by the T&S Network from Alice's posting.
Manages a team of domain experts who classify cybersecurity prompts that an AI system cannot confidently call benign or malicious, covering penetration testing, red teaming, cloud security, and ICS/OT (SCADA) security. The role sets quality and routing for that intent analysis work and handles escalated edge cases that cross domains.
What you'd do
- Oversee the domain experts in enterprise red teaming, web app security, cloud red teaming, and ICS/OT.
- Send incoming rows to the right domain and shift freelancer hours as volume changes.
- Track agreement and disagreement rates, QA findings, and throughput, and report them to the Group Manager.
- Settle edge cases that cut across domains, working with the other Tech Lead.
- Keep annotation guidelines consistent across domains and propose updates.
- Annotate or review rows directly when needed to unblock the team.
What it asks for
- 7+ years hands-on in pentesting, red teaming, cloud, or ICS/OT, deep in at least one.
- Working grasp of ICS/OT protocols like Modbus, DNP3, S7comm, and OPC UA, plus PLC and SCADA design.
- Solid grasp of pentest, red team, and cloud attack chains, their tools, and how they show up in real breaches.
- 2+ years leading or mentoring technical specialists as a team lead, tech lead, or senior reviewer.
- Good at reading a user's aim from a short prompt and telling defensive or research use from attack prep.
- Clear written and verbal communication in English.
Terms in this role
- Red teaming.
- Testing a system, often an AI model, by deliberately trying to make it fail or misbehave, so problems are found and fixed first.
