Senior Software Engineer - Safety Experience

What you'd do

• Lead development of highly visible, user-facing products that protect Discord users.
• Partner with Product, Policy, Legal, Data Science, ML, and T&S Operations on shared solutions.
• Iterate on in-house tooling that supports T&S workflows.
• Respond quickly as the abuse and compliance landscape changes.

• 5+ years writing Python and building back-end APIs with frameworks such as Flask or Django.
• 5+ years writing front-end code in React and TypeScript for web and mobile.
• Working knowledge of Cassandra, Postgres, or ScyllaDB.
• Track record leading end-to-end delivery of complex projects, including coordinating rollouts and aligning stakeholders.
• Skilled at finding and fixing faults in complex systems while they run live.
• Comfortable using metrics and dashboards to drive decisions and write reports.
• Experience in the Safety or Anti-Abuse domain (preferred).
