• Shape safety policies for generative AI features alongside leadership, design, engineering, legal and regulatory stakeholders.
• Collaborate with ML researchers, software engineers and design teams on safeguards for Apple products.
• Build safety evaluation datasets through data sampling, creation and curation.
• Label evaluation data in detail and carefully use automated grading to judge how features perform.
• Analyze what evaluation results mean for the user experience.

What it asks for

• 3+ years of machine learning work, including generative models (Transformers, LLMs, VLMs), NLP or computer vision.
• 4+ years of research or product deployment in responsible AI, with publications in top ML venues such as ACL, CVPR, NeurIPS or ICML.
• Strong grounding in LLMs, foundation models and diffusion models.
• Experience using generative models for evaluation or product development, with current knowledge of common failures.
• A PhD, MS or BS in computer science, machine learning or a related field, or an equivalent background gained another way.
