About Tremau

Tremau builds Nima, a content moderation platform for online platforms. Tremau launched in 2021 and was built by a team of technologists, policy experts, and serial startup founders.

Tremau states that it designs solutions to ensure compliance with global regulations, including the EU Digital Services Act and the UK Online Safety Act. The platform page states that Nima integrates with NCMEC for CSAM reporting and the EU Transparency Database. Nima can be deployed in a customer's own cloud organization, in a separated manner. Tremau states that it is launching a partnership with User Rights, one of the first out-of-court bodies designated under the Digital Services Act.

How it works

Tremau's Nima platform is built around the DSA and OSA obligations. It ingests user reports, trusted flagger notices and legal requests, routes them through a moderation workflow, generates statements of reasons and files them to the Commission's database, runs appeals and out of court dispute handling, and produces transparency reports and risk assessment evidence. It also does policy management and DSA compliance advisory.

It's French, founded by former Commission and platform policy people, and squarely aimed at platforms that need to be compliant more than they need another classifier.
