How it works

Perspective is Jigsaw's free API that scores text for toxicity and related attributes: severe toxicity, insult, profanity, identity attack, threat, and sexually explicit, in a growing list of languages. You send a comment, you get a probability per attribute. Publishers use it to rank comments, warn users before posting, or route to moderators.

It's free, it's fast, and it's been studied to death, including its biases on identity terms, which Jigsaw has worked to reduce. It's the default starting point for text toxicity.
