Marking deadline for systems already on the market
The voluntary code sets out how to meet Article 50's transparency duties. Providers of generative systems get measures for machine-readable marking of AI audio, images, video and text, and deployers get measures for visible labels on deepfakes and on AI text published on matters of public interest. Systems on the market before 2 Aug 2026 have until 2 Dec 2026 to add marking.
Assess: Compare your watermarking, provenance data and deepfake labels against the code's measures, and decide whether to sign.
