The EU bans AI systems that generate non-consensual intimate images or CSAM from 2 Dec 2026
49days
Until December 2, 2026
Ban on nudifier and CSAM-generating AI systems applies
The AI Omnibus adds two practices to the AI Act's list of bans: systems that generate realistic intimate images, video or audio of an identifiable person without consent, and systems that generate child sexual abuse material. The ban covers tools built for it and tools where that output is a reasonably foreseeable result without adequate safeguards, so general image, video and voice generators are in scope. Breaches carry fines up to 35 million euro or 7 percent of worldwide turnover.
Build: Red-team image, video and voice generation for nudification and sexualized depictions of minors, and document the safeguards before 2 Dec 2026.
Who it reaches
It reaches generative AI and adult content services with users in the EU, at any size. Any provider placing such a system on the EU market, and deployers who use one for that purpose.
Lands on Engineering, Policy & Standards, Legal & Regulatory and Product.
