About Telesign
Telesign is a California-based company offering digital identity verification and communication services. It is a part of the Proximus Group. Its products include phone number intelligence, verification, and messaging over SMS, RCS, Viber, and WhatsApp. Its SMS Verify product verifies new users with multifactor authentication through SMS and voice one-time passcodes.
Telesign was founded in 2005 by Darren Berkovitz, Ryan Disraeli, and Stacy Stubblefield. It lists coverage in more than 230 countries and territories.
In April 2017, Telesign announced that it was being acquired by BICS, a Belgium-based company, for $230 million. On 1 January 2025, Proximus Global was formed, combining Telesign, Route Mobile, and BICS.
