HeyGen

AI video generator that turns text, images or audio into videos with avatars, narration, captions and translation.

About HeyGen

HeyGen is a generative artificial intelligence company that creates photo-realistic avatars via user-submitted photos and videos as well as a library of pre-made avatars and voices. Its Personal Avatars are AI-powered digital versions of people that look, move, and sound like them, so people can create videos without filming every one. It also offers video translation, with support for 177+ languages and dialects. Its users include real estate agents, financial advisors, attorneys, coaches, and creators.

HeyGen was founded by Joshua Xu and Wayne Liang in 2020, originally named Surreal and later rebranded from Movio. It established its headquarters in Los Angeles in 2022. It has offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Palo Alto and Toronto.

In June 2024, HeyGen raised $60 million in a funding round led by Benchmark that valued it at $500 million.
