LY Corporation

LY Corporation is a Japanese internet company behind LINE and Yahoo! Japan. Its businesses include search, a portal website, e-commerce, communications and advertising. In Taiwan and Thailand, LINE is described as the No. 1 messaging app.

LY Corporation was formed in October 2023 through the reorganization of group companies including LINE Corporation and Yahoo Japan Corporation. It is owned by A Holdings, a joint venture between SoftBank Group of Japan and Naver Corporation of South Korea. Takeshi Idezawa is its CEO. Its workforce comprises over 10,000 people from numerous countries and regions.

On October 1, 2023, Z Holdings and its subsidiaries Line Corporation, Yahoo! Japan, Z Entertainment and Z Data merged to form LY Corporation. Earlier, in March 2021, Z Holdings, which owns Yahoo! Japan, and Line Corporation had merged their businesses.
