Bellingcat

Bellingcat is an independent investigative collective of researchers, investigators and citizen journalists that works with open source research. It publishes walkthroughs of open source research methods and holds training sessions for journalists, human rights activists and members of the public. It has collected open source resources in a toolkit to help researchers and journalists with their investigations.

Bellingcat was founded in 2014. It has over 30 staff and contributors in more than 20 countries.

Its investigations have covered the shooting down of flight MH17 over eastern Ukraine, police violence in Colombia and the illegal wildlife trade in the UAE. It has partnered with news organisations across the globe.
