About Marble

The page states that Marble offers a free open source self-hosted option and a licensed option with Enterprise features, which can be deployed self-hosted or as SaaS. The page says it is used by 100+ fast growing fintechs, banks and crypto exchanges in 15+ countries.

It screens customers, companies and payments against global sanction and PEP lists. The page states that Marble does not provide KYC services. With the self-hosted option, the page says customer data never has to leave the user's infrastructure.

How it works

Marble is an open source rules engine for fraud and compliance decisions, from a French company (Checkmarble). You send it events (a payment, a signup, a transfer), it evaluates them against scenarios you build in a visual editor with lists, thresholds and lookups, and it returns a decision and score. Decisions that need a human go into a case manager with assignment and audit trails.

It's built for fintechs that must show a regulator how each decision was made. Self host it, or use Checkmarble's hosted version.
