About Google Safe Browsing

Google Safe Browsing is a Google service that lets client applications check URLs against Google's constantly updated lists of unsafe web resources. Examples of unsafe web resources include social engineering sites, such as phishing and deceptive sites, and sites that host malware or unwanted software.

The Safe Browsing API is for non-commercial use only. For commercial purposes, the page refers users to the Web Risk API.

How it works

Safe Browsing is the blocklist behind the warnings in Chrome, Firefox and Safari. The Lookup and Update APIs let you check URLs your users post or click against Google's lists of phishing, malware, unwanted software and social engineering sites, free for non commercial use with a commercial Web Risk API on Google Cloud for higher volume.
