How it works
Rekognition's moderation API returns a hierarchy of labels for an image or video frame: explicit nudity, suggestive, violence, visually disturbing, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, gambling, hate symbols, and so on, each with a confidence. Video is processed asynchronously with timestamps. Custom Moderation lets you train an adapter on a few dozen images to fix specific misses.
It's the pragmatic choice on AWS: no vendor to onboard, pay per image, and Augmented AI can route low confidence results to human review.
