Supplying a nudification tool is now a crime in the UK

Since 29 Jun 2026 it has been an offense to make, adapt, supply or offer a tool for creating intimate images of a person, with up to three years in prison, and a defense for taking reasonable steps to prevent that use. A separate offense covering AI models built to create child sexual abuse images carries up to five years and reaches companies and their officers, but has no start date yet. Hosts are protected only if they didn't know and remove promptly.
