About Replit
Replit is an American technology company that operates a cloud-based platform for writing and running software. It first developed a browser-based online integrated development environment that supported multiple programming languages, and later added tools that use artificial intelligence to generate code. Its Replit Agent lets users describe an app or website idea and builds it through chat.
Replit was founded in 2016 by Jordanian programmers Amjad Masad, Faris Masad, and designer Haya Odeh. It was incorporated in San Mateo. Amjad Masad is its founder and CEO. Its name comes from the acronym REPL, which stands for read, evaluate, print loop.
In September 2024, Replit introduced Replit Agent, an AI agent for automating software development. In July 2025, it announced a partnership with Microsoft to make its services available through the Azure Marketplace.

Free the models: Harness design at the frontierFrom their feed
Model routers are everywhere right now, but they have a fundamental limitation. No matter if based on advanced heuristics or a small model that reads each turn and picks which LLM to use, a router will always be less capable than the model it’s choosing for. Replit Agent lets the model decide instead. The main agent, or core loop, chooses its subagents’ tier and effort, and adjusts its own as the task unfolds. Given that freedom, GPT-6 Astra hands routine implementation to less costly subagents and decides for itself where its tokens are worth spending. On both DeepSWE and Terminal-Bench, Repl

Black-box pen tests on ReplitFrom their feed
Replit enables you to build apps to create and launch apps that hold real customer data within a day. Before coding agents, a full pre-launch security review required procuring a pen test from a vendor that would cost thousands, and weeks of back-and-forth. A penetration (”pen”) test is a safe, authorized mock cyberattack that helps you fix security flaws before bad hackers find them. As we have democratized software creation, we have also sought to democratize securing it. A new generation of creators needs to ensure their apps are hardened against attackers, who look at apps built with AI as
