About Audible Magic

Audible Magic is a Los Gatos, California-based company that provides content identification services to social networks, record labels, music publishers, television studios, and movie studios. It also provides digital platform music management services for Internet radio, subscription music services, on-demand streaming, and fitness and gaming applications. Its services help companies identify and protect copyrighted content, manage rights and monetize media.

Audible Magic was founded in 1999 by Vance Ikezoye and Jim Schrempp. Its original goal was a service where radio listeners could call a number to identify a song that was playing and purchase it. It describes itself as a pioneer in automatic content recognition. It has been granted 69 patents to date.

Its customers include social media platforms such as Twitch and Dailymotion, and content owners such as Sony, Universal Music, and Disney. In January 2021, it acquired the B2B digital music platform MediaNet from SOCAN.
