Announcing T&S Hackathon Europe: 19th November, 2024!

Sep 27, 2024

Good news, everyone!

Our next hackathon is in the works, and this time, we're taking our ideas to the next level!

Together with Tremau, we are hosting a one-day, hybrid (in-person in Amsterdam and remote) Hackathon on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 as a part of the Trust & Safety Festival in Amsterdam.

Capitalising on the four previous hackathons (SF, Paris, Australia, and Ghana), this event will aim to further develop two of the most promising concepts proposed at previous events: One addresses policy/best practices and the other explores signal sharing. Participants will choose their preferred focus from a selection at the time of application, and will be placed in groups accordingly. Each small group will be given background information on the proposed concept as well as solutions proposed by previous hackathon participants, and work together to develop a go-to-market strategy for one of the two concepts. The goal for this one-day hackathon is to work in groups to develop a go-to-market strategy for these concepts.

The hackathon is open to everyone but registration is required. As with all T&S Hackathons, participants are not asked to share their last name, title, or place of employment.

Prior to the day of the Hackathon, we will confirm your topic selection and connect you with other members of your group. Each working group can choose how to use their time together. Each group will have a facilitator who will help guide the group and help to make the most of their time together.

How To Apply

The hybrid event is completely free to attend. However, you must apply and be accepted in order to participate. You must select your preferred topic and attendance type (in-person, virtual) at the time of application. The deadline to apply is Thursday, November 14, 2024.

Participation

If you are accepted, you are expected to actively participate and contribute to  your working group. Each group will have a designated facilitator. The organizers and volunteers will be available to support as needed.

Volunteer Opportunities

If you are interested in helping make this event a success (and having quite a bit of fun), volunteer! We need Zoom Managers as well as Group Facilitators. Sign up by indicating your interest on the participant application form before Thursday, November 14, 2024. Note that facilitators are also participants, so you will not miss out on participating if you choose to facilitate! No prior experience facilitating is necessary, we will provide guidelines for all volunteers.
